South Sunset Street Closure for Marco Island Water Well Rehab

The City of Marco Island is set to begin the rehabilitation of a water supply well on February 15, 2023. This project will have an impact on traffic in the area, as South Sunset Street will be closed for a period of four days.

South Sunset Street will be closed from February 15 to 18, 2023. During this time, vehicle, pedestrian, and bicycle traffic will be restricted except for local traffic. Temporary traffic barricades and signs will be installed in the surrounding area.

The well acidification and rehabilitation project is expected to last until March 24, 2023. The road closures and traffic impacts during this period will be minimal.

Drivers in the area are advised to proceed with caution, follow detour signs, and plan for delays. The traffic control plan is attached to this release.
