Marco Island prepares for its busiest weekend since before the pandemic

Marco Island is in season. The island is expecting its busiest weekend since before the pandemic, with hotels and restaurants at capacity!

On Saturday, the island welcomes visitors at the San Marco Columbiettes Treasures in the Trunk Sale Fundraiser! We'll be in the parking lot of the San Marco Parish Center at 851 San Marco Rd.

The gates open up at 8 am, and vendors can set up their own stalls before 7:30. Everyone's welcome to sell their own treasures from the trunk of their cars!

Costs come up at $20 per vehicle, and there's an additional $10 for people who want to set up a table by the trunks as well.

The 10th Annual Jerry Adams Chili Cookoff, hosted by CJ's on the Bay at the Esplanade, will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday.

A total of 20 chefs will work together to try and win the People's Choice Award as well as a Judge's Pick selected by three unknown judges from the culinary industry.

The cookoff is a tribute to 23- year veteran Jerry Adams, who lost his battle with cancer and passed away at the age of 61 in 2012.

There's also the Goodland Civic Association is pleased to announce its 13th Annual Holiday Bazaar. The event will be held at MarGood Harbor Park (321 Pear Tree St., in the Village of Goodland) from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.

Finally, guests can also come to McLeod Park on Saturday for the first Art-in-the-Glades arts and crafts fair of the winter season.

This outdoor event will be held in historic Everglades City from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., and you'll be able to find all sorts of goods there too!

Overall, it's going to be one of the busiest weekends the Island has seen for over two years!
